McGEE, Judge.

John H. Duncan (Defendant) and Barbara R. Duncan (Plaintiff) participated in a wedding ceremony presided over by Hawk Littlejohn (Littlejohn), a Cherokee medicine man, in October 1989. This traditional Cherokee ceremony lasted several days and culminated on 15 October 1989, whereupon the parties signed a marriage certificate that was then filed with the Macon County Register of Deeds.
