Appeal by the defendant from a judgment of the Supreme Court, Kings County (Kreindler, J.), rendered January 2,1991, convicting him of robbery in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, upon a jury verdict, and imposing sentence.

Ordered that the judgment is affirmed.

We reject the defendant’s contention that the trial court’s Sandoval ruling (People v Sandoval, 34 NY2d 371) which permitted the prosecutor to cross-examine the defendant concerning his criminal history, if he testified, was an improvident exercise of discretion. Evidence of prior criminal,…
