Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Schenectady County (Eidens, J.), rendered April 5, 2002, upon a verdict convicting defendant of the crimes of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree (two counts).

Defendant was indicted on charges related to possession of drugs and a weapon. Following a guilty verdict on three felonies, he was sentenced, as a second felony offender, to prison terms of 12¥2 to 25 years for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, 2 Vs to 7 years for one count…
