Harold R. Jackson sued his former employer, Continental Airlines, asserting that Continental violated 42 U.S.C. §§ 2000e ef seq. by discharging him on the basis of race and in retaliation for his complaints about illegal employment practices.' The district court granted Continental’s motion for summary judgment, concluding that Mr. Jackson had not filed this action within ninety days of receiving notification of his right to bring a civil action from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), as required by section 2000e-5(f)(l).
