JACOBS, Circuit Judge:
Plaintiffs are former employees of defendant Pratt & Whitney, a division of United Technologies Corporation (“Pratt & Whitney”), who were laid off when their work was transferred to another Pratt & Whitney plant. They allege that their manager induced them to forgo a limited transfer opportunity by falsely assuring them that another opportunity would be afforded at some later time prior to layoff. Plaintiffs brought this action in Connecticut state court, pleading state law claims for negligent misrepresentation, intentional misrepresentation, and unfair trade practices.…
