Atkinson, Justice.

(After stating the foregoing facts.) The law which is brought into question is an act of the legislature approved January 28, 1946 (Ga. L. 1946, p. 90), revising and amending the divorce laws. It is insisted that in so far as this act seeks to change desertion, as a ground of divorce, from three years to one year, it is in violation of article III, section VII, paragraph XVI, of the Constitution of Georgia of 1945 (Ga. L. 1945, pp. 8, 24; Code (Ann. Supp.), § 2-1916), which is as follows: “No law, or section of the Code, shall be amended or repealed by mere reference to its…
