Defendant-Appellant Pennfield Charter Township (Pennfield) appeals the district court’s award of attorney’s fees under 28 U.S.C. 1447(c). Plaintiffs-Appellees A Forever Recovery (AFR) and its parent company, TIA Corporation (TIA), filed a lawsuit in Michigan state court against Pennfield, alleging violations of the Just Compensation Clause of the Fifth Amendment and the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution.
