The plaintiff, Jerry Don Holdbrooks, appeals from a summary judgment granted on motion of the defendant, Central Bank of Alabama, N.A. (Central Bank), in an action for libel.
Holdbrooks had executed a personal guaranty on a note representing an indebtedness owed to Central Bank by Southern Heritage Furniture Company (Southern Heritage) of which Holdbrooks was president. The loan ultimately went into default, and foreclosure proceedings were instituted against the corporate debtor and the personal guarantors.
