[¶ 1] Debra Tisdale, individually and as personal representative of her late husband’s estate, appeals from an order of the Superior Court (Kennebec County, Studstrup, J.) denying her motion for judgment on the pleadings on a complaint filed by her sister-in-law, Mavourneen Tor-nesello, and Tornesello’s husband Michael. The complaint seeks to recover $1,469,589 for failure to repay a $171,500 loan made in 1987 and memorialized by a promissory note.
