Plaintiff Kenneth Randall Johnson (Randy) brought an action in the circuit court of Franklin County to recover damages for personal injuries he sustained when his tractor-trailer was hit at an intersection by a truck which had failed to yield the right-of-way to him in violation of section 11 — 904(b) of the Illinois Vehicle Code (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 951/2, par. 11 — 904(b)). In the same action, plaintiff Linda Johnson, Randy’s wife, asserted a claim for loss of consortium.
