SOPER, Circuit Judge.

The trustee in bankruptcy of Eugene M. Callis brought five suits against five life insurance companies which had insured Callis’ life for $230,000, and had loaned Callis, after the filing of the petition in bankruptcy, the aggregate sum of $45,334.28, taking assignments of the policies as security for the loans. The suits were brought to recover the cash surrender value of the policies as of the date of the filing of the petition, aggregating $45,702.44, and were consolidated for trial.
