The plaintiffs commenced this case by filing a complaint containing fourteen counts, alleging malpractice and violation of G. L. c. 93A (1986 ed.), against five attorneys and two law firms. The defendant Yoffie filed a motion for summary judgment and the other defendants filed motions which the judge who ruled on them treated as motions for summary judgment. The plaintiffs filed several motions for summary judgment as well.
