Appellant Charles N. Lloyd, Jr. went to trial on fourteen charges arising out of his alleged preparation of false federal and District of Columbia tax returns for numerous individuals, including himself. A jury convicted him on four counts: three of aiding and abetting the preparation of false federal income tax returns for three named taxpayers (not including Lloyd), in violation of 26 U.S.C. § 7206(2) and 18 U.S.C. § 2(a)-(b); and one count of first degree fraud, in violation of D.C.Code §§…
