Liberty Mutual Insurance Company (“Liberty Mutual”) sued Pella Corporation and Pella Windows and Doors, Inc. (collectively, “Pella”) in the district court for declaratory judgment. The suit sought to determine the scope of Liberty Mutual’s obligation, under general commercial liability (GCL) policies (collectively, “Policies”) issued to Pella, to reimburse Pella’s defense costs in two underlying lawsuits.
