Petitioner Fils Belizaire suffered injuries to his back and neck following a hit-and-run car accident on November 22, 1991. At the time he was one of four passengers in a car owned and operated by Gerce E. Jeremie. Petitioner subsequently filed to compel arbitration pursuant to the uninsured motorist endorsement of Jeremie’s policy of insurance with Aetna Casu*474alty & Surety Co. (hereinafter Aetna).
