SNELL, Justice.

Defendant, Jerry Michael Lambert, appeals his conviction for burglary in the first degree in violation of Iowa Code section 713.1 (1997), a class “B” felony, and assault in violation of Iowa Code sections 708.1 and 708.2(4) (1997), a simple misdemeanor. Defendant appeals claiming there was insufficient evidence upon which to base a conviction for burglary, and that he received ineffective assistance of counsel.
