STEPHENSON, Circuit Judge.
William Thomas Roach and Alfred D. Russom initiated separate but virtually identical lawsuits in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. Each plaintiff alleged that the Teamsters Local Union No. 688 (the Union) wrongfully deprived him of certain rights guaranteed to union members by the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA), 29 U.S.C. § 401 et seq.
