Monero is a town consisting of 23 families and of about 118 men, women, and children. A census was taken under the Director of Census, Washington, D. C., under date of May 9, 1931, showing the population of precinct No. 32, in which Monero is situated, as 378 as of April 1, 1930. There is a population of about 600 within a five-mile radius of Monero. .There are two grocery stores and three coal mines at or very near the town. One of these coal mines is what is called a tipple mine, and has a capacity of 6 or 8 ears per day above the tipple and. 10 or 12 cars on the track below the tipple.…
