This dispute involves a union officer election . held by Defendant Local 689. Amalgamated Transit Union (“the Union”), on December 2, 2015. Thomas E. Perez, then Secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor (“the Secretary”)1 brought this -action under the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (“LMRDA”), 29 U.S.C. §§ 481-84, to void the election and conduct a, new election under the supervision of the Secretary, The parties have filed cross-motions- for summary judgment.
