I. Introduction
Plaintiff has brought this action under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), 29 U.S.C. § 1132(a)(1)(B), seeking review of defendant’s termination of long term disability benefits which were being paid under a policy issued and funded by the Unum Life Insurance Co. (Unum) and administered by Unum’s parent company, UnumProvident Corporation (UnumProvident).
