State Farm sold a fire insurance policy to George and Retta Willis that covered their home and its contents, and when the Willises’ home burned down they filed a claim of loss. State Farm refused to pay the Willises’ claim, asserting that the fire was the result of arson to which one or both of the Willises were a party, and also that one or both of the Willises knowingly misrepresented material facts on their claim of loss and during State Farm’s investigation of the fire.
