The defendants in this case — Ahmed Abdel Sattar, a/k/a “Abu Omar,” a/k/a “Dr. Ahmed” (“Sattar”), Yassir Al-Sirri, a/k/a “Abu Ammar” (“Al-Sirri”), Lynne Stewart (“Stewart”) and Mohammed Yousry CYousry”) — were charged in a five-count indictment on April 8, 2002 (“Indictment”). The First Count of the Indictment charges Sattar, Al-Sirri, Stewart and Yousry, together with others known and unknown with conspiring to provide material support and resources to a foreign terrorist organization (“FTO”) in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2339B.
