In this case, the defendant appeals from his conviction by a jury on charges of kidnapping in the first degree in violation of General Stat*20utes § 53a-92 (a) (2),1 two counts of sexual assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-70 (a),2 sexual assault in the third degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-72a (a) (1),3 and attempted sexual assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-49 (a) (2)4 and 53a-70 (a).
