The defendant, Irving Nixon, was convicted after a jury trial of all five counts of an information charging him with conspiracy to commit assault of an employee of the department of correction, accessory to assault of an employee of the department of correction,1 conspiracy to commit assault in the second degree, accessory to assault in the second degree2 and rioting at a correctional institution.
