This appeal lately came to the writer by a very recent re-assignment. Plaintiff, a former employee of the defendant corporation, sought by this action to recover both actual and punitive damages for an alleged violation of the service letter statute, Section 290.140 RSMo-1959, V.A.M.S. Trial by jury resulted in a verdict and judgment in favor of the plaintiff for actual damages of $4000 and punitive damages of $6000.
