| j Plaintiffs, who were all certified, tenured, or permanent public school employees in August 2005, filed suit against Defendants, the Orleans Parish School Board (OPSB), the State of Louisiana, the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, and the Recovery School District (collectively referred to as the “State Defendants”), alleging that they were unlawfully terminated from their positions following Hurricane Katrina. After a hearing, the trial court certified the case as a class action on December 10, 2008 and Defendants filed this timely appeal. Because…
