Procedural History and Evidence

This case arises from Defendant Elwood Warren Collins’s motion for post-conviction DNA testing. On 22 October 2003, Defendant was indicted for first-degree murder in the death of Christina Lee. On 6 May 2005, Defendant pled guilty to second-degree murder pursuant to the United States Supreme Court’s opinion in North Carolina v. Alford, 400 U.S. 25, 27 L.
