WINTER, Circuit Judge:

Michael Bossett, Kenneth Walker, and Darrell Bossett appeal from Judge Wein-stein’s denial of their respective petitions for writs of habeas corpus. Because the claims raised on appeal are either procedurally barred or without merit, we affirm.

BACKGROUND

In February 1983, appellants were convicted of the murder of Donald “Rommel” MeGirth.1 MeGirth’s body was discovered in the woods near a state highway in Suffolk County, New York, on August 30, 1980. His hands had been cuffed behind his back, and he had been stabbed in the chest.
