SIMPSON, Circuit Judge:

We review on a consolidated joint appeal the convictions of Benson and Wright for violation of Title 18 U.S.C. Sec. 2111, robbery committed within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States. 1 Two additional codefendants named in the indictment, Herman Thomas and Joyce Louise Calhoun plead guilty on the eve of trial, November 6, 1972 and testified as government witnesses in the ensuing separate trials of first Benson, then Wright, conducted in immediate sequence November 8 and 9, 1972.
