Both Joseph Varela (claimant) and Petroleum Casualty Company (insurer) appeal a decision of the Workers’ Compensation Court allowing in part and denying in part a compensation claim filed by Mr. Varela against his employer, Exxon, U.S.A. The claimant appeals that portion of the decision denying his claim based on the running of the statute of limitations, along with several other issues. The insurer appeals that portion of the decision allowing compensation for a second injury following the claimant’s return to work.
