In 2013, plaintiffs-appellees Mark Crawford, Debra Ornelas, and Brendon Reed (collectively, “Plaintiffs”) filed a civil rights lawsuit against defendants-appellants Nicholas Hart and Jesse Evilsizer—two police officers—and several other officers who had responded to a 911 call placed by Ornelas. The officers moved for summary judgment on qualified immunity grounds, which the district court granted as to some officers.
