EXUM, Justice.
In this appeal defendant brings forth assignments of error relating to the trial court’s refusal to: dismiss the charge of first degree murder for insufficient evidence, suppress defendant’s incriminating statements, permit cross-examination of several witnesses on their motivation for hiring a private prosecutor. He also presents assignments relating to portions of the trial judge’s substantive instructions to the jury and his contention that he suffered from ineffective assistance of counsel.
