Iiln this criminal case, David G. Sarpy (hereafter the defendant) appeals his jury *1035convictions for second degree murder, a violation of La.R.S. 14:30.1, and attempted second degree murder, a violation of La. R.S. 14:30.1 and La.R.S. 14:27. For reasons that follow, we affirm the defendant’s convictions and sentences and instruct the trial court to inform the defendant of the provisions of La.Code Crim.P. art. 930.8.
