FACTS

Respondent Mary Jane Jordan (“Jordan”) and appellant Adele Perry (“Perry”) were close friends and neighbors. Perry was a successful, well-educated businessperson whom Jordan admired. Jordan had an eighth-grade education. During the course of their friendship, Jordan confided in Perry about her concern for the futures of her two teenage daughters. She wished to find a means of providing for their support.
