Defendant, William B. Whigam, is the appellant in two appeals which have been consolidated. In appeal No. 1 — 88—3442 from circuit court number X7 — 038—101, defendant argues that: (1) amended section 5 — 6—3.1(f) of the Unified Code of Corrections (Ill. Rev.
