The facts we have gleaned from the original record, and the appendices, * are presented in chronology as follows:

Plaintiffs (Mr. and Mrs. Wilks) were owners and operators of a retail hardware business in the Muskegon county village of Holton. They owned and still own the business premises. October 15, 1953, in pursuance of precedent negotiations and without executed writing at the time, plaintiffs sold the business to defendants (Mr. and Mrs. Kempf) and one Bond for the agreed price of $30,000.
