The question presented by this case is a recurring one in litigation between insurance companies and their insureds: to what extent documents generated in connection with a “coverage review”- — a phrase with an elastic definition — by a lawyer hired by the carrier, are insulated from disclosure in discovery by virtue of the attorney/client privilege or the work-product doctrine.
