MEMORANDUM OPINION

STEPHEN S. MITCHELL, Bankruptcy Judge.

A hearing was held in open court on May 28,1996, on the objection filed by the chapter 7 trustee, Donald F. King, on March 8, 1996, to the debtor’s claim of exemption in the proceeds of sale of 3201 Lockheed Boulevard, Alexandria, Virginia, in the amount of $59,-000. At the conclusion of the hearing, the court ruled from the bench that the sales proceeds could not be claimed exempt under § 34-4, Code of Virginia, in excess of the amount permitted by that statute, but that the entire proceeds could be claimed exempt under § 522(b)(2)(B),…
