Charlotte Gabrielli, a minor nine years of age and a former student of the Fremont School, a public school in the elementary grades in the city of Sacramento, applied through her guardian ad litem to the Superior Court in Sacramento County for a writ of mandate addressed to the authorities of the Fremont School and the Superintendent of Schools and Board of Education of the City of Sacramento School District to compel her reinstatement as a pupil of the Fremont School.
