Plaintiff corporation is engaged in a general contracting business. In the summer of 1949 the Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority advertised for bids for the construction of a project on the shore of Lake St. Clair, referred to in the record as the St. Clair Metropolitan Beach project, in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the doing of the work. Plaintiff submitted a bid in the sum of $970, 000 and was awarded the contract.
