On October 30, 1935, and for several years prior thereto, Ichiji Nishimoto was engaged in the production and sale of a vegetable pickle (cucumber and turnips, the latter being known as daikon) by a process known only to him and distributed under the label and trade name of “Otome-Zuke.” This product was of superior quality and much in demand by the Japanese trade.
