Twenty-seven 1 defendants were charged in the first count of the indictment in this action under 18 U.S.C. § 371 2 with conspiring to defraud the United States, and to violate 18 U.S.C. §§ 1503 and 1621 3 .Counts two, three and four charge Joseph Magliocco, Joseph Profaci and Pasquale Turrigiano, also defendants under count one, each with a substantive count of perjury.
