LUMBARD, Circuit Judge:

Following a four day trial in December 1971 before Judge McLean and a jury, Peter Salazar was convicted and sentenced to fifteen years’ imprisonment for participating in a conspiracy to import and distribute large quantities of heroin in violation of 21 U.S.C. §§ 173 and 174. 1 Seeking to have his convic tion reversed and a new trial granted, Salazar now appeals, urging substantial prejudicial error in the conduct of his trial.
