Appellees brought suit in assumpsit in the circuit court of'St. Clair county against the appellant for recovery on a policy for $1000 taken out by Joseph B. Jones in the appellant company. After the pleadings were finally settled the case was submitted to a jury, which returned a verdict for appellees for $998.25, the amount of the certificate less one assessment unpaid at the death of the insured.
