REGAN, J.

This is an appeal from a judgment in favor of plaintiff for damages 1 against the paternal grandmother of plaintiff’s children for the grandmother’s participation in the abduction and continued secretion of such children from the custody of plaintiff. Defendant appeals from the judgment.

Defendant is the former mother-in-law of plaintiff, who married defendant’s son and only child, Melville, in 1955 in France. Plaintiff’s son by a prior marriage, Roberto, was adopted by Melville at the time of the marriage and a daughter, Sandra, was later bom of their union in Sacramento,…
