The Derry District Court (Thornton, J.) found the defendant, Kent Woods, guilty of the violation of simple assault committed in a fight entered into by mutual consent. RSA 631:2-a (1986). The court sentenced Woods to a fine and ordered him to pay restitution to the victim “through the Department of Probation on all unreimbursed or uninsured hospital, surgical, medical or other causally related expenses.” Woods estimates these expenses at approximately $7,000.
