In 1904, appellants purchased certain real property in the city of Nampa from Cushman & Leek. Title thereto was taken in the name of the wife, Frances A. Pleasants. The property was situated within the NampaMeridian Irrigation District, hereinafter referred to as the district, and was assessed for taxes by the district up to and including the year 1909 in the name of Cushman & Leek, the grantors of appellants, although the deeds to Frances A.
