This action arises out of plaintiffs resignation from her position as a high school English teacher at the Newburgh Free Academy. Plaintiff, Dr. Mary Richardson, claims that defendant, the Newburgh Enlarged City School District (the “District”), forced her to resign because she is African-American, in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e, et seq„ and the New York State Human Rights Law, N.Y.
