Appellant, Sterling Chemicals Inc. (“Sterling”), challenges the trial court’s order granting a partial motion for summary judgment in favor of appellees, Texaco Inc. and Texaco Development Corporation (collectively “Texaco”), on the grounds that (1) the trial court erred in granting the motion on Texaco’s claim for losses resulting from business interruption and (2) the economic loss rule applied by the trial court in its ruling does not apply to claims for negligent misrepresentation where there was no contractual relationship between Sterling and Texaco.…
