Plaintiff served consecutively as an enlistee from 1‘943 in the Navy, Army and Air Force until Ms retirement for longevity in July 1966. During his Army enlistment (March 1946 to December 6, 1957 when he was honorably discharged at the expiration of his reenlistment term), he was reduced in rank effective January 18,1954 from Sergeant First Class E-6 to Staff Sergeant E-5. In August 1969 plaintiff unsuccessfully applied to the Army Board for Correction of Military Records to remove the reduction in rank.
